I have said this many times on here but BKS Iyengar is my hero. I wrote a blog post yesterday about practicing with a piriformis injury and piriformis syndrome but that is nothing compared to dealing with tuberculosis. As a teacher, I listen to myself and others talk about our litany of first world problems and excuses for our sucky practices or lack of practice.
The room is not hot enough.
I am sore.
I had to much to drink last night.
I don't like the music
It is to early to practice
My hamstring hurts
Etc
Then I look at a video like this of BKS doing his amazing yoga practice after struggling with tuberculosis, malnutrition, typhoid fever and malaria and it makes me shut up and start practicing a little gratitude.
